Muskegon Community College (Jan 2006 to Present)
I am an Adjunct in the Business Department teaching computer classes. I am currently
teaching introduction to computer classes, as well as JavaScript programming. I teach
at the Muskegon campus, as well as the new Fremont extension.
Independent Consultant (July 2004 to Present)
I am currently available as an independent consultant. I have skills as
a network administrator on most Microsoft Server based applications, as well as
most versions of Windows (PC). I specialize in Microsoft Exchange.
Burke Porter Machinery (Jan 2001 to July 2004 and
Sep 1997 to Nov 1998)
I was hired as the network administrator. As such I am responsible for
almost all aspects of the IT infrastructure. I redesigned the poorly
performing server and network infrastructure and made it work effectively.
I also implement VMware to reduce the number of physical servers and better segment
functionality without significantly increasing cost. I also redesigned, implemented
and upgraded firewall, VPN and dial up. Most recently I have been tasked with
developing methods using web pages written in ASP and client applications written
in Visual Basic .NET to extract information from our ERP system (Baan).
Old Kent Bank (Jun 2000 to Jan 2001)
Exchange Administrator for Exchange 2000. We were early adopters of Exchange
2000 working heavily with Microsoft to design and implement an email system capable
of handling 10,000 email accounts in hundreds of locations around the country.
Among other things, I wrote a customer address synchronization utility to keep Groupwise,
cc:Mail, Exchange 5.5 and Exchange 2000 up to date, which allowed email to continue
flowing between the systems.
Sun Chemical (Nov 1998 to Jun 2000)
Network/Desktop Support Technician. Support of a network of 150 computers,
including 10 servers. Responsible for Exchange email, SQL and desktop applications.
City of Holland, Michigan (Jan 1997 to Sep 1997)
Information Services Coordinator. Responsibilities include setting up a
Windows NT network, e-mail and web site (Intranet and Internet). Tools include
Internet Information Server 2.0 - 4.0, Exchange Server 5.0 (using Exchange 5.0 client
and Outlook 97), Systems Management Server 1.2 (SMS), Microsoft SQL Server 6.5,
Microsoft Visual Studio 97 and Microsoft Office. Completely designed and implemented
the entire Internet and e-mail related solutions (on Windows NT Server with Windows
95 clients)
Donnelly Corporation (Apr 1994 to Jan 1997)
Worked as a Programmer/Analyst in support of manufacturing and as HelpDesk
Coordinator. Worked regularly with Novell 4.xx.

Served as a fire protection specialist. Also performed duties as safety
officer, supply custodian, security monitor, computer operator, analyst and programmer.
Served in the Philippines, Utah, Illinois and South Korea.
Served as chief tester and contributed to the programming in implementation of
the Hazardous Materials Incident Management System (HMIMS�a computer system for
tracking hazardous materials incidents).
